The purpose of ModelSearch is to reduce parts of a manufacturing company. This goal can be achieved by increasing the number of parts being reused by the design team. On PTC’s Windchill and Creo, finding a similar 3D model is as easy as googling images online. If users use ModelSearch, they can search for the most similar geometry among 50,000 - 5,000,000 3D models that are managed on Windchill in just a few seconds as well as re-using parts that have similar geometry. PTC’s unique ModelSearch is compatible with Creo Parametric and Windchill PDMLink which can automatically use characteristics of geometry to classify them as 3D models. Thereby, helping users to adopt and use ModelSearch rapidly.
